Benefits of Public Health Education

Posted by: Jamie Dixon

Tagged in: Untagged

Public health education can be considered an ambiguous term. It teaches the proper way to improve one's health, and can involve only one or two people, or the population of several countries. Anything that can seriously threaten the physical, mental, or spiritual health of a wide range of people, notably due to their interactions with one another, can be classified as a threat to the community's public health. This is why public health education becomes a necessary tool to aid people against the spread of potential diseases and illnesses. Five of the most important reasons of how public health education can prove beneficial are as follows:

1. People are able to learn how to prevent the spread of communicable diseases through the training and methods being taught in education. People are able to have better access to information regarding general prevention of diseases, including the knowledge of what to do and how to act during epidemics in their area. Certain diseases have their own individual prevention methods that people should be well aware of, and employing these techniques lessens the risk of being infected by possible diseases. Through public health education, even simple things such as wearing a flu mask in particularly affected areas, or knowing when to take vaccines for a particular illness that is prominent at that time of the year, always proves very effective in limiting the number of people affected annually.

2. More people are able to access private and public medical institutions to prevent diseases or medical conditions, or to better treat them. Without the benefits of a public health education, most people may feel healthy enough and not find the need to go for a general check-up. Being aware that it is necessary to see your doctor regularly is one of the important things learned in a good public health education. Most medical hospitals and clinics offer immunization or vaccine shots during the flu seasons, or when a general outbreak of hepatitis is going around, and a public health education ensures that more people know to go to these facilities and avail of the treatment, thereby lessening the amount of ill people.

How to avoid dark circles around the eyes

Posted by: Administrator

Tagged in: Untagged

First of all, try and figure out the reason you have developed dark
circles. Have you always had them Are they a recent occurrence Does
your mother have dark circles under the eyes as well Once you can
pinpoint the cause for dark circles, it would be... much easier for
you to get rid of them.

1. Are you allergic to something If yes, work on avoiding the allergens.

2. Apply Vitamin E to the area under your eye. You could open up a
Vitamin E capsule, and apply a little oil. Swallow the rest of the
oil. This not only helps you get rid of dark circles, but also reduces
puffiness around the eyes. In addition, regular application of Vitamin
E delays the onset of wrinkles.

3. Apply creams that contain Vitamin C.

4. Inverted asana postures work wonders for dark circles. Try doing
the sarvangasana everyday. Often dark circles and under-eye puffiness
is caused due to sinusitis. Jal Neti is extremely beneficial in such
cases, as it internally cleanses your entire facial region,
rejuvenating it. Do the Jal Neti at least five times a week to clean
out your entire nasal passage.

5. Swallow a capsule of cod liver oil everyday. It strengthens eyes.

6. Take a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a
pinch of turmeric powder and a little flour, enough to make a paste.
Apply this paste to the under-eye area, and wash off after fifteen
minutes.

7. Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday. There is no stressing
this enough. If you do not drink at least eight glasses of water
everyday, you are not providing your body with as much water as it
requires for flushing out toxins. Do not wait until you are thirsty
before drinking up. By the time your body cries I'm thirsty!, you are
already severely dehydrated.

8. Avoid stepping out in the sun, especially between noon to four,
when the sun is at its strongest. Wear sunglasses to protect your
eyes, and the delicate skin around it, from the harmful effects of UV
radiation.

9. Apply a cold, used tea bag to your eyes. You could also applied
used, cold, herbal tea leaves to your eyes, to sooth them.

10. Apply a concealer to the area under your eyes, to hide dark
circles. Use a colour that is every so slightly lighter than the shade
of your skin. Apply the concealer gently; do not stretch or pull the
skin from this delicate area.

11. Lie down, close your eyes and apply cucumber or potato slices to
your lids. Leave on for ten minutes and remove. Wash the area with
cold water. This soothes tired eyes instantly, and helps boost blood
circulation in the under-eye area.

12. Try out dark circle remover creams available in the market. Make
sure they are of a recognized brand before applying them to your face.

Different Ways to Look Busy at Work Without Really Working

Posted by: Administrator

Tagged in: Untagged

Source : wikihow

If you're getting paid to do something, you should do it, and do it well. But is it always that simple? What if you have a vague job description, a haphazard workload, and a very bad Boss who is only content when you look busy, but not if you're super efficient? Sad to say, but sometimes working at your maximum potential is punished. This happens a lot in larger organizations and retail.

Let's say you and a co-worker must each enter the data from 100 files, or shelve 100 books. You hustle and finish an hour earlier than your co-worker, and there's not much else to do. Your boss or manager walks by, expresses displeasure at the fact that you're not doing anything, and assigns you to an unpleasant, and really unnecessary task because they don't like seeing you relax (even though you earned it by finishing your assignment faster, right?). What do you do? Quit? File a complaint? Or slow down? These instructions are here for if you decide to reward your own efficiency by using that extra time you earned for R&R--without your boss noticing.
